God moves in mysterious ways. He plants his footsteps in the sea and rides upon the storm’. He has no set formula on how he calls his children to join Him in His work. The personal story of each of member of the Asha Kiran community is a testimony to this fact.
THE community at Lamtaput has been living and working together since 1990 which consists of families and singles.. Each member strive to contribute add quality to the community life. Living as community is challenging since we come from various backgrounds and the professions are different. Living together as community never been a cake walk. God has given this privilege in His school of ‘inter-personal relationship’ We are grown as community and we are about 110 individuals. We believe God has placed us a community to work together as well live together to give the ‘Ray of Hope’ to many. As Asha Kiranites developed a culture of doing things to gather like have common worship place and Studying Scripture together. We do have fun like Picnic, potlucks, Games and aerobics. Once in a year talents day and sports programs organized to have leisure activities. We organize SRAMDHAN where all the staff comes together and clean the campus and surrounding place and ‘Drishpato’ is organized to learn new topics from one another as well as from outside resource people.
Over the years many families and Individuals went through many challenges in their life. In their ups and downs we stood as community with each one of them to add quality for their journey by encouraging, dialogues, personal visit to home and village visits to the villages where the staff are stationed. The community input has given opportunity for many to start new chapters in their life to the tough situation and given hope to fine tune the rough edges.
People move out and are replaced by new faces. We miss the people who moved to various parts of the world and we hope and pray they may continue to give the ‘Ray of Hope’ wherever they are placed. We cherish the glorious movements we lived together even though we miss them. Yet our journey continues ………
Brother/sister let me your servant
Let me be as Christ to you
Pray that I might have the grace
To let you be my servant too
We are pilgrims on a journey
We are brothers and sisters on the road
We are here to help each other
Walk the mile and bear the road
